I spent the last year creating an overhaul for Fallout VR that makes it a less terrible VR game fromĪmong the edits Gingas makes to the game are, most importantly, optimisation and stability changes which fix all the basic problems with the base game. Now, we have another mod to add to the list of 'fan-made changes that make Fallout 4' brilliant, and it comes in the form of an amazing overhaul mod from GingasVR: which turns the game into an intense hardcore survival experience. Even to date, mods can turn this game from a bit of a disappointment to an absolutely exceptional VR experience. Now, it's essentially a competent VR port of a pretty fantastic game.īut there's a reason I say 'competent' and not 'brilliant'. Since then, it has come quite a long way. It was pretty problematic and it required an exceptional amount of tweaking (or, rather, optimising) to be even vaguely enjoyable. It also turns the NPCs into something other than sitting ducks. However, the mod also makes the game more like an immersive survival experience: removing the compass, VATS and the HUD.
What always made the most difference in how my created character looked was the hair and vanilla Fallout visuals have a really underwhelming variety on that front. Yeah, I know the water should look the part of being generally undrinkable but we can’t help ourselves with trying to make water in every game look as blue and as realistic as possible. How detailed you wanna go depends on your PC specs and the resolution goes all the way up to 4k. They will add much needed graphical fidelity and more detailed textures to nearly everything in the game. They take spot number 10 just because we feel like they should be the first thing you install in any Bethesda game, period. Starting off with mods that probably have the most impact on how your game will look.
